Welcome to our Essential Oil Directory. My name is Lisa Barger and, like you, I've often wished that someone--anyone--would take a more serious look at the science behind the essential oils used in aromatherapy.

Ever wish for more than the same old information? Ever try to find real scientific studies on essential oils?

The truth is, most aromatherapy books (and the vast majority of aromatherapy web sites) just repeat the same old outdated information. References--if they're even listed--are usually just other aromatherapy books. And the information in those books is . . . well, it's not usually very scientific, is it?

The good news is that aromatherapy is being taken seriously by researchers and today, we know more than ever about the volatile organic compounds botanists and herbalists call "essential oils".
